Hibiscus Extract Powder, Natural (Water Soluble) (Hibiscus sabdariffa) is extracted from the calyx and is approved for use as a natural flavoring substance in food and non alcoholic beverages.
The extract can be used as a natural food color in a wide range of baking applications. In use, the extract has a cranberry red color and a very mild cranberry-like flavor. This water dispersible powder is compatible with frosting and dry baking mixes. We recommend a starting use level of 0.25% to 0.50% in most baked goods and other food applications. The final level will depend on the amount of color desired in the final application.
