Pure Bergamot Extract, Natural

Bergamot (Citrus bergamia) is a small citrus fruit, which grows primarily in Southern Italy. The fruit is sour and not edible and grown for its essential oil, which is contained in the peel. Bergamot oil imparts unique flavor or Earl Grey tea. Our Pure Bergamot extract can be used in a wide range of baked goods. In your typical cake or cookie recipe, we recommend using one teaspoon, or 0.50% by weight of the dry ingredients in your baking mix.

While bergamot has a beautiful aroma and is perfectly safe when consumed as a flavor, we do not recommend you apply the extract to the skin. Bergamot oil has been linked to photo sensitivity in some people and can cause a skin rash.
