Ube Type Extract, Natural & Artificial
Ube (or ubi) is the Filipino word for purple yam (Dioscorea alata). It is cooked with sugar and eaten as a sweetened dessert or jam. Our Ube Type Extract, Natural & Artificial can be used in a range of alcoholic beverages. It has a nutty flavor with a coconut-like background note that nicely compliments beer and cider. In low proof applications we recommend a starting use level of 0.20% and adjust to the desired impact is achieved. In high proof spirits start at 0.50%. Our Ube Type Extract, Natural & Artificial is clear and colorless and does not contain any added purple food coloring. It can be used in conjunction with natural or synthetic water based colors if a deep purple color is desired.
