Essential Oils for Flavor

Produced from the flowers, leaves, stems, roots, peel, or bark of plants and fruit, the aroma compounds known as essential oils are so named because they capture the distilled essence of a plant’s natural aroma and flavor. These highly-concentrated compounds deliver a ton of flavor in just a drop or two. Citrus and fresh-mint essential oils, like lemon, orange, and peppermint, are widely used in candies; high-end bakeries and confectionaries also use floral essential oils such as lavender to flavor their gourmet treats. Savory spice and herb essential oils, like sage and basil, can add depth and richness to soups, stews, roasts, and sauces without an herb garden. All of the products in our essential oils line are pure, undiluted, therapeutic and food grade, ideal for use as flavoring.

Essential Oils for Fragrance

Essential oils have been used for their fragrance since the ancient Egyptians invented perfume. The classic scent of Chanel No. 5 comes from a number of essential oils, including bergamot, lemon, cedarwood, and neroli (bitter orange). From personal perfume to freshening a room or home, our essential oils can be used alone or blended in almost endless combinations to create signature scents.

Essential Oils for Aromatherapy

Therapeutic use of essential oils dates back to ancient times; nearly every great civilization, including the Egyptians, Chinese, Indians, Greeks, and Romans, used plant oils for medicinal purposes to improve well-being.
Today, aromatherapy is widely practiced for much the same reason. From relaxing scents like lavender to energizing ones like grapefruit, many people find that aromatherapy is helpful in promoting a general sense of wellness. Aromatherapy oils can be diffused or used topically, as in massage.
Due to the high concentration of essential oils, it’s important to be aware of the specifications for use of a particular oil before using topically or ingesting. Some citrus essential oils can cause phototoxicity in large doses and should not be used on sensitive skin before exposure to sunlight.
