Yerba Mate (Ilex paraguariensis) is a species of holly, indigenous to South America. The cut leaves and stems of the plant are used to make a tea known as mate. Rich in polyphenols, mate has a flavor similar to green tea and is believed to increase mental energy and focus, suppress the appetite, reduce fat cells, inflammation and cholesterol. Our Yerba Mate Extract, Natural can be used in almost any beverage application where a label claim is desired. In most beverage we would recommend a starting use level of 0.20% an adjust to desired impact is achieved.
